the team
Benjamin Sawyer
Ben has spent most of his career as a published comic artist and an adjunct professor at Webster University. Ben’s other passions are animation and concept art and has experience with both. When he’s not working from a cafe somewhere else in the world he’s enjoying keeping current with video games, listening to the latest EDM, or having a drink with strangers at a pub or cocktail bar.
Ellis Ray III
Ellis Ray III is a storyboard artist, cartoonist, and illustrator from St. Louis. In 2008, he graduated with a BFA in Painting from Truman State University College. Since that time, he’s been drawing, drinking coffee, creating comics, playing nostalgic video games from the late 90s, illustrating, catching up on an ever growing ‘watch later’ list, designing characters, started a family, and worked on storyboards for the last 15 years.
Brian Atkins
Brian Atkins is a St. Louis based artist and instructor and has worked in the comics, games, and videogames industries via illustration, storyboards, and character design. Realizing that story is at the heart of all artwork, Brian applied this philosophy to every project over the past 15 years.
Joe Wills
Joe’s love for visual storytelling sparked after seeing a young Rob Liefeld in a Levi’s Jeans commercial in 1991. Three years later after reading Spawn #18 drawn by Greg Capullo in 1994, was the moment he decided to be a sequential artist. He began drawing and creating stories at a young age, but it wasn’t until adulthood that the passion for creating sequential art became a tangible goal. Since, he has gone on to be published multiple times in various graphic novel anthologies and books to include: Ink and Drink Comics, Stache Publishing, Pistol Whip Press, Hollow Harbor. He has learned much from this experience. During his career, he has worked on various projects behind the scenes un-credited. He is currently working as the Chief Creative Officer for Chronicler Software.
